We serve all Beaches in Los Angeles County

Since 1992, MMCC Los Angeles has served Los Angeles County by providing in house medical care to the more than 8,000 injured or sick seals and sea lions stranded on the 70 miles of beaches from Malibu to Seal Beach.  Our goal is to rehabilitate and release these animals back to their ocean homes.

Our mission is important to the health and safety of all of beachgoers in Los Angeles County because there are no protected beaches where sick or injured seals or sea lions can rest and heal away from people.   MMCC Los Angeles is the only 24/7/365 safe haven for these animals in Los Angeles County.  Our non-profit rehabilitation center survives only by the support of kind patrons like you.

We all share this ocean planet.   Help us, help them, get home.

In December, MMCC Los Angeles announced that it had only the funds to pay its hardworking veterinary and animal care staff through June 2020. To guarantee operations through seal and sea lion seasonal migration, which is the Center’s next busy season (i.e., from January – June 2021), we must raise $1M by July 1, 2020. If we do not meet this fundraising minimum, we will be forced to close our doors and transfer any remaining animals to out of area hospitals, leaving no 24/7 facility in Los Angeles County to take in animals that strand.

Thanks to a swell of community support, we are happy to report that to date we have raised over $900,000 towards this fundraising goal! The last dollars are going to be hard to raise, so please continue to help share our urgent message to generate support. We could not do this without your support.
